On our sixth day, we did yet more shopping. (We are definitely doing our part in keeping the surf companies in business around here.) One of our favorite purchases was a Christmas tree ornament that displays a photo of Hawaiian Santa Claus and his sleigh being pulled by flying dolphins. In between stores, we took time to stop at a local cafe for lunch. It was so delicious we are going back there again for a late breakfast.
We got back from our day out just in time to see the sun set and yet another rainbow, an activity we will miss. We took lots of photos of this one, photos capturing a picturesque array of colors. These photos and others could easily be translated into postcards, as we are sure others who have come here and taken photos could say the same thing about their captured imagery.
Dinner was had at the Plantation House, a restaurant that overlooks the golf course where the Pros will compete in a few weeks. Does this sound like a skipping record?, "the food was great!"
And we have just awakened to our final day in Maui. The plan for today is to take the famous road to Hana, a road trip around the coast of Maui that promises more good imagery. Of course, as Captain Jeff on the sailboat the other day taught us, we need to be ware of making plans. As he put it so well: "We live on a small island. The best way to ruin a good plan is to have one!" This quote will be written on our hearts forever, and Maui, as beautiful as it is, pales in comparison to the home of God's beloved. Mahalo, Maui.
