political matrix

Since the start of the Denver Convention, I've been captivated by politics and found myself listening and gazing deeper into the red-versus-blue milieu. Each night this week, our TV screen has shone a bit of political speeches, dialogue, and forecasting. And this morning, a time normally committed to reflective practices, was intercepted by more of the same. The thought of leaving for the office before learning of McCain's VP nomination would go against the grain of my recent political focus. But to no avail, because after leaving home and being in the office for a while, a good friend called and told me of the young, bright, Alaskan who had come to the stage.

Next week,more of the same, as the Republicans offer a rebuttal and vision of sorts. Then, there are the debates and hype leading up to 11/04. (I've already noted the debate schedule.) God bless America. And God bless us Memphians, and those in other cities and states, who think, pray, and vote.

Outside this political matrix, Shannon and I are still enjoying Memphis. We are heading out to our beloved walking grounds, and to note, sometime this weekend we are going to a local baseball game.
