uncorked

We had a very eventful weekend and one of the first really pretty ones we have had here. Even though the forecast predicted showers and chilly weather, we had beautiful sunny days in the mid to high 50's - just right for a light jacket. Our world-traveling friend, Vicki, came for a visit, and we were able to show her Hershey Chocolate World, as well as go a few places that we'd been wanting to go as well. After visiting what is now a familiar hang-out, we went from Hershey to Lititz, a quaint little town that has a special event every 2nd Friday of the month. Vicki and I found this fantastic little place called the Cafe Chocolate of Lititz. SO good! They had a hot chocolate that was made with yummy dark chocolate, which of course I had, while Vicki had the one with chili. Unique!

Yesterday we participated in the Uncork York Tour de Tanks. This is where all of the 11 wineries in York County open up their facilities for tours and tastings. We made it through 5 of them, which was our goal. There was one in particular that was really beautiful, called the Moon Dancer Vineyards and Winery. Their facilities are in a big mansion atop the rolling hills of PA, and they had a great band playing outside on their slate deck with an outdoor fireplace. We understand that they have concerts on their vast lawn in the summers (as do several of the wineries in this area), so we have a plan come late May/early June!

Vicki left this afternoon, and we were very thankful to have had her. We seem to be more prone to venturing out in this land when we have someone to do it with! (hint hint)
